The "After Covid Tourism" project, under the KA210 ADU Erasmus+ Program, marks a pivotal step towards rejuvenating the tourism industry post-COVID-19. This initiative, a collaboration between Associazione Most (Italy), the Association of Tour Operators and Travel Agents “Union Future for Tourism” (Sofia, Bulgaria), Women's Organization of Strumica (North Macedonia), and IDEC (Greece), has been instrumental in addressing the challenges and exploring new opportunities in the tourism sector. Here, we delve into the impactful events and experiences from this project, held in Italy and Greece.
Events in Italy: In Arona, Italy, a significant meeting was convened with partners from Macedonia, Greece, and Italy, underlining the international scope of the project. The event included visits to key tourist attractions such as Camping at Lake Maggiore-Lago Mago, the Tourist Information Office, and the Arona City Hall. These visits provided an opportunity to examine how tourism spots are adapting and innovating in response to the pandemic. The gathering was not only an exchange of ideas but also an unforgettable experience, reinforcing Arona's potential as a key tourist destination.
The project underscored the vital role of effective management in transforming beautiful locales like Arona into preferred tourist spots. Our Greek partners from Athens, in particular, left with a wealth of knowledge, experiences, and promotional materials to apply these insights back home.
Events in Greece: In Greece, a new approach to revitalize tourism was launched by the four European partners, including Associazione Most. This initiative, part of the "Covid 19 Tourism and Travel Aftermath" KA2 project, embraced innovative concepts like light and color to enhance tourist experiences. Despite the challenges still prevalent in travel and tourism, there was a collective readiness among the partners from Bulgaria, Italy, North Macedonia, and Greece to confront and overcome these hurdles together.
The "After Covid Tourism" project exemplifies the power of international cooperation in revitalizing a sector as dynamic and significant as tourism. It highlights the necessity of shared knowledge and experiences in developing strategies that cater to the evolving needs of travelers and the industry at large.
